At Direct Foam, we make it as simple as possible for you to get the foam you need to rejuvenate your boat or yacht cushions.
Many manufacturers don’t provide the specialist requirements for those customers who need to replace or restore their boat cushions. Because many of our customers need cushions made of unconventional sizes or from a certain grade of foam, we stock a variety of foam grades and can cut them to any shape and size.
At Direct Foam the whole ordering process can be carried out online on our website which means you can place your order at a time convenient for you.
However, if you do need assistance, we’re always happy to help. Our business hours are 9 AM – 5 PM Monday to Thursday and 8.30 AM to 3.30 PM on a Friday. Call us on 01293 871712 during these times to speak to a member of our team. Or you can send us a message via our enquiry form on the contact page of our website and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
Reticulated Foam For Boat or Yacht Cushions
Many types of foam absorb water so when the foam becomes wet, it’s no longer suitable for use until it has dried. Foam that consistently gets wet is also likely to break down more quickly and therefore needs replacing more frequently.
This would usually be fine as mattresses and indoor cushions don’t normally get wet. However, when it comes to boats you will need a specialist foam that is resistant to water.
Reticulated Foam is a special type of foam that is commonly used near water. Unlike other types of foam, reticulated foam is made in the form of a mesh-like structure which allows the foam to act like a sieve. This means that it can remain much drier when comes into contact with liquids.
Reticulated Foam
Direct Foam is one of the few foam suppliers in the UK that stocks reticulated foam so if you need water-resistant boat cushions, we can produce them for you using this specialist foam.
Reticulated foam isn’t just used for boat cushions. It’s often used to create outdoor and garden furniture cushions that are at risk of getting wet. Poolside furniture, such as sun loungers and cushions which are exposed to adverse weather conditions, are usually made using reticulated foam.
Ordering yacht or boat foam cushions follows the same process as ordering any other type of foam product cut to size from us. Once you’ve selected the shape you require and input your measurements, you can select reticulated foam from the list provided.
If you are not sure whether reticulated foam is right for r particular requirements then speak to one of our friendly, experienced team. They can give you advice on the benefits of reticulated foam, to help you make the correct decision.
Taking Your Foam Measurements
We don’t recommend taking measurements from the old pieces of foam from inside your cushions when replacing or rejuvenating your boat cushions. This is because old foam can become worn out or misshapen and so won’t provide you with accurate measurements.
So the best way is to measure your old boat cushion covers to create the template as these will be more precise. You can easily enter your required measurements on our online foam calculator which will provide you with an quote for your new foam cushions. If you require any assistance, just get in touch. We’re here to help!
